Adam started the month by joining a bunch of other wonderful comedians on the stage at the estimable 100 Club.
He did a brilliant set without his laptop! He's a fully functioning, independent giggle machine.

He also did some Work in Progress this month at The Invisible Dot. I don't know whether he was flying without the aide of an Inter Net again but the Twitter reports were all shiny.Oh - I see someone mentions 'youtube bit' and wait, yes....there's a photo of him with a laptop. I am an idiothole.

There was a friendly little interaction between Giles Coran and Adam.

Franz Drameh, one of John's co-stars from Attack the Block, has also been cast in a news-worthy film.

Towards the end of the month, things became a little fraught with anticipation of A New Podcast when people started to get this message.

As I said earlier, Adam did some shows at The Invisible Dot and managed to fit in a guest performance in Simon Munnery's Fylm School on the same night as one of them.

The dates for BUG 47 were announced, and it's back to the old format of a show with a guest director one week and then two shows, the following week.

Midweek warbling

1) This may not be news but I've only just noticed a domain name has been registered for http://www.attacktheblockmovie.com/.

2) Iain Buckland, tenacious Rush Hour podder has posted this lovely piece with Adam from the Leicester Comedy Festival. The Ridiculous Icing on the Stupid Cake. Did anyone notice "terrible mistakes" on the first night? Nice outro boys!
Oh and Buckles, BUG is never too long and the Director's Cut is too short, if I may. I've never strayed out of the dirty London town but I think the evenings I've seen are perfectly balanced with just the right amount of audio visual lovelies and I can't get enough of Adam's YouTube comment presentations.

3) Tickets are now on sale for ADAM BUXTON with...Tim Key / Tom Basden / Jonny Sweet / Hosted by Fergus Craig at the 100 Club (28th April 2010).

4) Adam has joined a healthy line-up for this year's "Are You Taking The Peace" charity event on 6th May 2010 so grab a tickets soon. Thanks to Twitter for alerting me to this one. You know who you are.

Tumbleweed Notwithstanding

There's nothing much out there at the moment but Buckles is still wonderfully busy, entertaining the arse out of willing chucklers around the country. There may still be tickets for some of the remaining events if you want to check the links here. Tweets from both BUG and Popcorn last week were effusively appreciative. Joe was in the audience at BUG and Louis Theroux went along to Popcorn.

You may remember that Adam did a gig at the 100 Club and this tweeter found a doodle he made in the dressing room.

The wonderful Hobbsy of Adamandjoe.com fame spotted that the other day, Adam opened a Vimeo account at last and has favourited a couple of David Oreilly's films. I think it's too much to hope that he might upload his wonderful Persuasionists Response video that he's been showing at gigs. There is also rumour of, at the very least a pilot for an on-line based BUG style show.

Adam gave an online interview to this small, local arts collective. It would seem he must have done the piece over a month ago but unless I am mistaken, it only popped up online yesterday.

I'm guessing that this tweet implies Joe did a bit of voice work. Whether it was for a short film, documentary or a commercial may remain a mystery until we hear his dulcet tones on air.

This is not new but when info is thin on the ground, I might as well post something that I haven't already put here.

Finally, lazybones from Hobbsy's forum stumbled upon two additional episodes of Each Passing Minute from the old XFM standing-in days. There are a whole bunch of shows that many of us felt were lost forever and we were teased with the first episode of this Radio Soap Opera feature. Now it seems there may be hope for more somewhere out there and in this lonely scrubland left in the wake of the 6Music absence, it couldn't be more eagerly anticipated.

Viscount* Buckules hits the newstands again with a nice little plug for his gig next week.

Hmm......I really wonder if I can make this.......and then be too shy to look him in the eye.

Networthy Nuggets

How easily we become blasé. Edgar posted a third picture of Joe (in as many weeks) and I didn't even bother to link it. It made it's onto the Guardian Monkeyblog, but I couldn't be arsed.

Of course, that is not, in any way a truism. I was fumbling with other areas of my life and felt the need to rest this little blog for a few days.

Other Adam and Joe items to pop into the brainial cranial this week have been a couple of new blog entries giving a selection of their FAVOURITE Black Squadron photos from both the Pan Hat command and Poltergeist invasion. The blog entries also give links to the full galleries because their pledge to safeguard the listeners' trust means they have to pretend that there are no favourites.

There's a sniff of a rumour about something Count Buckules might be doing and lots of buzz about his dear, thomosexual friend. Once again, Adam will be presenting the MVAs at the Odeon Leicester Square for anyone lucky enough to get tix. Adam continues to narrate the BBC2 Philippe Starck doco Design For Life, he's doing a DJ slot tomorrow evening and a stand up slot in the 100 Club at the end of the month.

Joe is doing absolutely nothing at all. Not even playing with himself.*

So we come to the Electric Proms. The sweet, innocent jocks actually believed they weren't going to get any entries. It really never entered their fragile, self-deprecating minds that people were taking time to make amazing audition tapes.

Obviously, nobody would want to suffer the fate of Toddy Pipkins, the poor little lame boy whose sad disabilities might mean his entry won't reach them until a nano second after 4pm on 14th October, 2009 but people love Adam and Joe so very much.....
1) They want to impress them more than anything else they hold dear in life.
2) They want to see what other people do before they commit to their masterpiece.
3) They want to stand a better chance than the next person of actually worshiping in the comfort of Boggins' basket.
4) They know that idiotholes like me will find their entries, blog their entries, probably even tweet their entries and generally expose them to the ridicule of recognition.

I could go on but I was boring myself again. Do a search on YouTube and you might see some of the recent offerings. My search skills don't seem to be brill enough to come up with any MySpace results as yet. Don't forget to try for some tickets to watch the event.

In other news this week, I seem to have adopted a habit of changing my Twitter name to whatever catches my ear in The Show of the Week and on this occasion, it happily coincided with James' choice of podcast title. This feature may well be a one-off and cannot, in any way, be guaranteed as reliable.

Seen Ricky's film, seen a lady-man in a dress tell me about her life for a couple of hours, watched a week in the life of Orson Welles, saw David Hare's new play but the one thing I may not be in a position to do tomorrow is.........fully immerse myself into BBC 6Music listening.
I'm pretty sure I'll find a way to make Black Squadron but it may not have my undivided attention and if you're hoping for some more demented Twidiothole action, you'll be languishing in the joy deficit department.
I do what I can. What I can't do, will do no harm.
