Happy Old Year

The month began with someone digging out an old Glasto photo, to herald start of nearly three weeks of twitter enquiries for the whenabouts of the Joe-based pod release.


BUG 49 had three shows this month, starting with a Roisin Murphy interview on the 4th, then the Director's Cut the following week (wherein previous A &  J Show producer Claire Slevin let out a whalloping great "Stephen!") The playlist is here. At this point, the general public were unaware of how recently poor Adam's father had passed away.


The Invisible Dot announced the incredible line-up for their Birthday Bash in January:

The BUG team also announced that the first BUG show of 2016 celebrates 10 years of the Because label group and a great video back catalogue.

Miranda Sawyer included Adam in her roundup of 2015 radio good things, even though he didn't.....

Middle of the month gave us a request from Adam for some interaction to include in his Christmas Day waffle with Joe.

Denver showed Attack the Block in 35mm as their monthly AV Club Sci Fi night.

Just a reminder that the Telegraph printed Nigel Buxton's Obituary on the 18th and Adam divulged that he watched this film with Joe, some other friends and family on the following Friday evening.


The Hollywood Reporter carried this piece about Section 6 and Joe Cornish.

Jarvis Cocker played Joe's Jools on Christmas Day waffle during his 21st Dec show and this happened on the 22nd.



Christmas Eve brought the podcast interview with Joe and we were not disappointed. The bliss of hearing them enjoying each other's company so warmly, was the perfect start to festivities.

Then Christmas day came and we had a present-opening pod, just like the old days but more modern. You can find both pods linked here.
You'll enjoy this if you've had a chance to listen already.

 It seems London Live tv channel are showing series one of The Adam and Joe Show from Monday at 9pm.

Finally, I want to share a little theory, yet to be dispelled. I reckon the three bloody fingers on Fin's helmet in The Force Awakens, are a little nod to Moses' scratches in Attack the Block.


I do hope everyone has a splendid and frutiful 2016, with many more pods from Adam and a bit of a film from Joe.

January 15

Kicked off the month with this

and at last a little more news about Joe's Section 6


As Black Squadron shifted themselves into New Year cinemas, they were delighted by the "Stephen!" "um coming" to be heard during The Theory of Everything.

The net went a bit sily when they learned this

Ultraculture's Charlie Lyne took his film, Beyond Clueless on the road and his Prince Charles Cinema Q & A was conducted by Adam.

The episode of Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown that Adam recorded last year, went up this month.


...and then suddenly, out of the blue, we heard that Adam was coming back to BUG!

...and BVE announced that Adam was going to interview Richard Ayoade as a keynote event at this year's show.

Joe was mentioned in this piece about Mark Kermode.

Adam was announced on a spoof festival line-up


The month finished with Adam appearing in the lineup at The Bloomsbury Theatre for Laugh Till it Hurts in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.


Friend of the Adam and Joe Show, Garth Jennings, talked to Lauren Laverne.

We were all thinking this, right?

Septic

Blue Zoo launched their animation containing the honey-potioned tones of Sir Adam of Buxtonwich (sounds like a tasty, bread-based repast, doesn't it?) and thereby heralded the start of a densely packed month.



Adam also made his appearance on Gadget Man during this first evening of September.

While Adam was in Leeds last month, Vulture Hound sent one of their munchkins to interview him.

There was that episode of Would I Lie to You that he recorded when he was up in Manchester for the 6Music Festival and he did another stint Dictionary Corner. In fact, 19th September saw Adam on telly three times, as Hot Fuzz also aired that night.



Meanwhile, down in London he did a series of Work in Progress gigs at The Invisible Dot.

I was rib tickled into submission at Adam's Kings Place show on 14th September but I didn't get as lucky as this lady.



It was tweeted that Adam would join the Do the Right Thing Podcast that night too but I can't find a link to an episode with him however, we should be able to hear the Flatshare Slamdown Podcast ep he did, sometime early next year (see here).




He recorded his interviewER episode of Chain Reaction this month with Reece Sheersmith in the hotseat but no idea when it will be aired. It'll be episode one of series ten so keep 'em peeled. Meera took a sneaky snap.




Don't ask me to remember what I put in my search field but I groped this old image from some time ago via Rachel Emm's Photobucket. What a lovely clutch of fellas.


Tony Visconti caught up with the animation of Adam's imagined convo between Bowie, Eno & Mr V.


It should also be mentioned that during a couple of his Kernel Panic warm-ups this month, he said he had real plans to do a podcast on his own and with friends. Apparently, he has already recorded something with Joe and Louis.

Speaking of whomwhich, Bazzy B got a tiny nugget from Jack O'Connell about Section 6 but Boggins only knows if Joe will ever be allowed to direct this.

Joe hosted a workshop at the BFI on Sept 17th with lovely Iyare, formerly of 6Music. Remember him? It was for The Moving Image Awards.




Joe also gave Time Out a little nugget about The Ritzy this month.


Garth has come back to Twitter and has got Soundcloud!


Finally, I thought I'd include a little bit of yin and yang.  You can't please everyone, least of all the dull ponces that feel the need to include a yin yang symbol in their Twitter nic.

The Ideas of March

Adam kicked off the month by joining Marc Riley at the 6Music Festival in Manchester.

I made a nugget page for it with some soundbytes and gathered photos.



Chris Judge's books are being narrated by Adam for ME (no, not me).

Steven Price, who composed the music for Joe's film Attack the Block, won an OSCAR this month for the Gravity soundtrack.

Graham Linehan continues to mention his drama with Adam.

Adam's Bowie documentary was nominated for a Radio Academy Award!



Reports began that Joe Cornish had signed up for directing Section 6 but this project courts a lot of controvasy and litigation.

Adam made his way over the big sea to New York, Austin and L.A. and there was so much interaction that I put it in a little nugpost.



Adam and the BUG team are inspirational!
